SCIENCE AND HUMANITIES DEPARTMENT comprises of Mathematics, English, Physics and Chemistry departments with 14 faculty members. Physics and Chemistry departments are equipped with laboratories, and the Department of English maintains Communication Skills Lab.”
From the day of its inception in 2009, the department has strived to achieve its fame by inculcating professional attitude and discipline among the Engineering students who are basically from rural and semi urban areas in and around Perambalur.

The S&H Department of RCET endeavours to integrate learning with practical applicability in all pedagogical processes. This principle has been instrumental in honing the skills of the students and also in improving the employability level of all students. Furthermore, the S&H Department goes the extra mile to make sure the students are cared for in their academics and also arranges for special counseling sessions. This helps the students to cope with the pressures of learning engineering subjects.
The department is very futuristic and positive in its outlook because we believe in the statement-
“Efforts lead to the best outcomes!”
Established as the Department of English in 2009, this has grown to be the status symbol of the Department of Science and Humanities. Dedicated faculty members, creative and updated teaching methods, Visionary approaches have branded the department to be very special. The pride of the department of English is that each and every student is given individual care and attention in the development of communication skills and career skills.
The Department of Chemistry concentrates in the fields of Environmental Chemistry, Co-ordination Chemistry, Surface Chemistry & Absorption, Nanotechnology and Material Science. Enthusiastic and devoted faculty help the students with basics and drive away their initial fears. Regular motivation and encouragement of the faculty members help students to search for wonderful projects which are much appreciated in professional forums.
This Department has spacious Physics and Chemistry laboratories with well equipped equipments related to Optics, Electronics, Modern Physics and instruments related to Chemical experiments in accordance with the requirements of the university as well as to enrich the background of the students in the basics of sciences.
The Communication Skills lab is equipped with the high-tech multimedia systems and Language software.
Exclusive CDs, Texts, Video Clippings, Short Films, Web-links are offered in plenty so as to gain mastery over the various aspects of English language like Receptive & Productive Skills, Spelling, Grammar, Vocabulary etc., The lab is equipped to support the advanced communications skills required in the Competitive World.
